There is a newness about Bangkok that’s literally palpable. As a city that has always been on the helm of exciting times, Bangkok has now gone above and beyond. From standards of hospitality to culinary prowess, it’s all happening in the city of Angels. Some of the finest restaurants and bars of Asia call Bangkok their home, there is  unprecedent construction everywhere, yet the city remains pristine and precise. The temples glisten like molten gold, the streets are wide and clean, the aromas range from hot Thai curries to BBQ to an astounding array of street foods and everything is extremely organized. The elan of ancient monuments are so cleanly juxtaposed with modern skyscrapers, it’s like being in two different eras in a single moment. The heart of the bustling capital of Thailand is spread across an area called Sukhumvit. One of the main places you’re likely to find the best restaurants, nightclubs, bars and shopping hubs. Sukhumvit is sectioned into ‘Sois’ or side streets, all of which connect to a main road. Each ‘soi’ is home to a surprise in the form of a quaint café or bookshop, a looming luxury mall or even a Japanese Izakaya, it is ‘the’ place to stay when visiting a busy city like Bangkok. Sukhumvit Road or Highway 3 follows a coastal route that actually leads all the way to Cambodia. Named after the fifth chief of the Department of Highways, Phra Bisal Sukhumvit, it is most definitely the best area to choose if you want to be where all the action is. Since the city is very well connected via the Metro, has various modes of local transport on land and over water, even if you have plans across town, by the river, Sukhumvit is most central.
